Wie es scheint hat Nokia mit dem Lumia 800 einen fulminanten Start hingelegt. In England ist das Smartphone bereits in einigen Läden des Providers Orange ausverkauft, in Frankreich führt es die Liste der am häufigsten verkauften Smartphones auf phonehouse.fr an.
Ein Nokia Pressesprecher kann diesbezüglich mit folgender Wortwahl zitiert werden:
“Lumia 800 sales in the U.K. are off to an excellent start … … Based on earliest data, the sales start of the Lumia 800 is the best ever first week of Nokia smart phone sales in the U.K. in recent history … …By our measures, we have gained significant smartphone sell-out share in the channels in which we are operating in the U.K. … … While it is not our policy to disclose individual product sales figures outside our quarterly financial results, we feel there has been premature sales analysis on the performance of the Lumia 800 … … Given our deliberate, sequenced roll out across countries and with future launches ahead, this is a critical metric for long-term success”
Leider nennt Nokia erneut keine offiziellen Zahlen. Wie eingangs erwähnt berichten allerdings auch Provider und Händler von guten Nokia Lumia 800 Verkäufen. Ein Analyst der Deutschen Bank schätzt, dass Nokia 2011 ingesamt 2 Millionen Lumia 800 verkaufen wird.
Unterdessen kündigt ein Nokia Manager erneut weitere Smartphones der Lumia Reihe für das erste Halbjahr 2012 an. Er spricht diesbezüglich explizit von Smartphones, Details nennt er allerdings keine.
